A prompt, a link, or both
You can start a film from a sentence, from a public page, or from the two together. Here is how each one works, when to use it, and how to get a film that needs almost no edits.
Orbit takes two kinds of input, and the composer accepts either one or both. Knowing what each brings is the quickest way to get a film you barely have to touch.
Two kinds of input
A link tells Orbit what happened: the facts, the copy you already wrote, and your brand. A prompt tells Orbit how to tell it: who it is for, what to lead with, and how it should feel.
Just a link
Use a link alone when the page already says it well: a release, a launch post, an app store listing. Orbit reads the public page, pulls the copy, colors and structure, and makes sensible choices about everything else.
Some links get extra understanding. A GitHub release becomes a changelog. A Linear changelog becomes a monthly recap. A Notion careers page becomes a hiring film. An app store listing becomes a device tour.
Just a prompt
Use a prompt alone for news that does not live on a page yet: a milestone, a hire, an event. Describe it in a sentence or two and Orbit writes the script, using your workspace brand.
Include the numbers. “We hit 10,000 users” makes a better film than “we are growing”, because a number gives the film something to count up to.
Both
The best results come from both. The link brings the facts, the prompt brings the angle. “Lead with the speed improvement, keep it under twenty seconds” turns a long release into a sharp film.
